Heathrow Airport
Another video from London's Heathrow
Airport. This video includes a lot of landings of a wide range
of aircraft types and includes footage that I took some time ago
but never got around to using. The video begins with a British
Airways Boeing 767 and after another short title sequence, you
will see Fokker F100, McDonnell Douglas MD82, Boeing 777, 747's
Airbus A320's, A319 and A321 from a wide range of airlines.

Handheld at Heathrow - this video as
you may have guessed was filmed on a handheld camera - no
tripod. Ordinarily this isn't something I would recommend,
however filming at Heathrow is very difficult indeed!

This video includes some rare military
movements at London Stansted, along with executive aircraft and
some more familiar visitors. Beginning with FedEX MD11, the
video moves to a short title sequence before a military coloured
Royal Air Force of Oman Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules rotates from
Runway 04. Boeing 747-400 Omani One A40-OMN then lands, followed
by A US Government Gulfstream 550 departing to Andrews AFB. A US
Government Boeing 757 is also seen departing. Both of the US
aircraft coincided with Senator John Kerry's visit to the UK,
Europe and Middle East in early March 2013. Note this video was
uploaded some time after those visits had taken place.

This video includes my very first real
life view and capture of Germanwings' new livery. Beginning with
the great sound of a FedEx McDonnell Douglas MD-11 arriving,
this video goes into a short title sequence accompanied by music
and engines sounds before showing the arrival of Germanwings
Airbus A319 in the new "Lufthansa Group" livery. I've also
included other aircraft movements including "classic"
Germanwings filmed days earlier, a Titan Airways 757 arrival,
and an Air Berlin Bombardier Dash8 Q400 complete the mix. I do
appreciate your comments and support - it really is the ongoing

Filmed on a quiet Friday afternoon at
London Stansted this video begins with Pegasus Airlines Boeing
737-800 TC-CPA departing, then after a short title sequence
(checkout the formation vapour trails) see a Qatar Airways
Airbus A319 arrival, Citation Departure and a little bit of TUG
action with Ryanair 737-800. It's a short video from me, but I

Filmed on a freezing cold winter's
day, 25th Jan 2013, and I do mean freezing, so much so that the
tripod began to freeze. This video includes a pretty rare view
at London Stansted - A World Air MD-11. This aircraft departed
for Ostend, but listen to the engine sound, more like a
helicopter! Also includes some biz jets including Lord Sugar's
Legacy 650 a Beech 90 of Jota Aviation and a few more. It was a
very difficult time to film but I hope you enjoy.

My second video of 2013 is a little
different to my usual uploads and you'll see why, however this
video from Stansted Airport features only Boeing aircraft.
Included are the ubiquitous Ryanair Boeing 737-800's, not least
those parked for the winter, along with a Pegasus Turkey TC-AIS
737. Boeing 757's are shown in the form of a Thomson Airways and
Titan Airways aircraft. Finally see a British Airways World
Cargo 747-8 power into the sky. This video is filmed right to
left as runway 04 was in use. Hope you enjoy!.

Filmed on 5th Jan 2013 and earlier on
9th December 2012 this video is from London Stansted Airport. On
5/1/13 I saw a Thomson Boeing 757, and one of the last
departures of AtlasJet and a first for me, Air Cargo Germany
Boeing 747F. Back on the 9 Dec 2012, Essex Police Planewatch
organised an event day which gave spotters at STN the chance of
getting a bit closer to the action and different angles at a
location not normally open to the public. You'll see Oman
Government A320 and private Boeing BBJ VP-BWR plus a waving
pilot from Air Berlin and some of the regulars at Stansted. Hope
you enjoy.

Filmed on 21st November 2012 I was
fortunate to capture an Antonov 124 outsized cargo aircraft at
London Stansted - the first time I've ever seen or filmed one.
It was luck and totally unexpected. The only bad thing was that
the weather rapidly deteriorated, although it held long enough
for a rain free departure; the same cannot be said for the
Corporate A320 and BA World Cargo 747-8 departure. I included
the latter because of the water effect over the wings, sheets of
it! The wind and rain continued late into the night, there were
a number of go-arounds and diversions as a result. I was already
pretty much soaked by this point so couldn't continue filming!

in October 2012, this video from London Stansted features a

This video marks another sad day in
the world of aviation as after 10 years of service, bmibaby
closes it's doors for the last time. BMI Baby was the low cost
arm of the BMI group and began flying in March 2002. The airline
operated a fleet of Boeing 737-300 aircraft and in recent times
a number of these gained new liveries featuring the little baby
icon. My personal favourite of these, one I was lucky to fly on,
was Little Duncan with the little monkey on the nose! Following
the takeover from Lufthansa of the BMI group of airlines by
International Airlines Group a buyer was sought for both BMI
Regional and BMI Baby. Whilst Regional was sold, no buyer came
forward for bmibaby. The airline announced a phased reduction in
flying and pulled many newer routes in June 2012, with the final
day of operations for the remaining flights on September 9th
2012.

Filmed in August 2012 this video is
from Dublin Airport and I've crammed in as many aircraft
movements as I can. The video begins with an upclose taxi and
takeoff of an Air Contractors Airbus A300 in the old red DHL
livery followed by a title sequence. After this I've included a
number of takeoffs from the Old Airport Road side of the airport
- unfortunately sound is always affected as it's such a busy
road but i've tried to minimise traffic interference as much as
possible. See Aer Lingus A320, USAirways 757, Air Canada 767,
Aer Lingus A330 takeoffs and an Emirates 777 reverse thrust.
Watch right to the very end of the video after my end sequence
for an Etihad A330 dusk takeoff. I've then included a Hapag
Lloyd 737 ops for TUI/Sunwing where the pilot waves at me... i
nearly lost the shot as I was panning and had to wave back! I've
included BA, Iberia Express, Aer Arann/EI Regional and Cityjet
takeoffs plus an ex Kingfisher Airways of India A320.

Filmed in August 2012 whilst on my
summer holidays to Ireland this video features a range of
logojets at Dublin Airport. The video begins however with an
Arik Air Airbus A330, which had been undergoing maintenance or
painting. Also in the video are firsts for me, the blue CityJet
colours of the Leinster Rugby Team, Aer Lingus Retro EI-DVM,
Scandianvian SAS MD87 in Denmark sports colours, Onur Air Airbus
A321 with 20 years markings. Additionally I've also captured the
BA Dove livery up close - on an ex-BMI Airbus and also the
Lufthansa retrojet Airbus A321. As always, I hope you enjoy

On 2nd August 2012 I was filming
Russian Aircraft movements at London Stansted and was looking
forward to the IL76 takeoff. However whilst this giant was
starting up and taxiing I noticed a Ryanair 737 flying over the
airport in an unusual direction. I didn't know it at the time
but the aircraft appeared to be experiencing some issues and was
holding whilst the professionals up front began sorting it.
You'll notice in my slowed sequence that the front nose gear was
down but the main gear wasn't.

After a very early start on Friday
27th July 2012 I was lucky enough to get a spot at Stansted
Airport to be able to capture a number of the VIP/ rare/ charter
arrivals at the airport in time for the opening ceremony of the
2012 sporting event being held in London. This video therefore
includes Slovakian Government TU154 arrival and departure, Czech
Air Force & German Airforce Airbus, Saudi 777, Dubai Royal
Flight 747, Air Bucharaest and Transavia 737's transporting
fans, IL96 and IL62 Russian arrivals. I've never been lucky
enough to see so many Russian jets, what amazing sights and
brilliant sounds. What a shame we don't have this variety all
the time.

Filmed in July 2012, this video
includes another batch of aircraft that I saw at Manchester
Airport. I've included as many as I could in the titles as well
including a few firsts for me like the Small Planet 737. The
video begins with a PIA just after touchdown and after the
titles, includes the British Airways Golden Dove Livery, A
Boeing 737 of KLM in retro colours. The Emirates Airbus A380 is
always an amazing sight, and Biman Bangladesh 777 arrival and
departure were new for me. Finally a few close up shots round

This is my first video edited using
Sony Vegas editing software. It took a while to save up for it,
but I'm very pleased. I've brought together some of my footage
from Manchester Airport filmed over a very wet weekend July 6th
- July 8th 2012. Included is a shot of a very wet Lufthansa MD11
Cargo departure, Air Transat in A310 in the new livery, an
Emirates Boeing 777 landing - check out the wing vorticies, a
Flybe Dash8 takeoff with Prop Wash effect plus my favourite bits
of all - loads of really kind pilots waving at the camera. I

Filmed in June 2012 at London
Stansted, this video exclusively features Boeing 767 aircraft.
Wide body movements at Stansted are not nearly as frequent as
narrowbody but in the last number of weeks I've captured various
767's. Including ABX Air, a first for me as usually they are
parked up. There are a number of corporate 767's too and I hope
you like the balance between the titles and the music and the
roar of the engines. Please note that unusually I have extended
the title music over the first Air Italy aircraft just as there
was quite a lot of background voices when this one came in -
mind you the aircraft wasn't in the best appearance! but a 767
is a 767! Thanks for watching..

This video includes the first
scheduled arrival and departure from London Stansted of
Iceland's new airline, Wow Air. The airline has dubbed it's
first aircraft "Wow Force One" ... move over Air Force One,
there's a new guy about town!! Filmed on 6 June 2012, the video
then features a taxi and takeoff of Stansted resident, Titan
Airways, with a view not seen all that often as the aircraft
taxi's towards the camera at a slightly different angle to
normal. The video, as always, begins with a title sequence of
various aircraft that have been seen at Stansted.

Another first and another Boeing
747-8F at London Stansted. This aircraft is owned and operated
by Atlas Air but in the Panalpina Airlines livery. The aircraft
arrived 05 June 2012 at 6:13AM BST from Huntsville USA. After a
very quick turnaround the aircraft departed to Belgium.
Apologies for the slightly wabbly landing, this was in part due
to an issue with the camera, thankfully that was resolved for
the upclose takeoff. Also included is a British Airways World
Cargo (Global Supply Systems) 747-8, Thomson Airways Boeing
737-800, Air Berlin Dash 8 and Germanwings A319. As always I
hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.

FFilmed on May 13 2012 this video
includes something I've not witnessed at London's Stansted
Airport before - an emergency landing. EasyJet Airbus A319
G-EZAM was declared as 'emergency traffic' on the radio; clearly
this was a routine precaution and thankfully there was no
serious incident. However look closely and you can see that the
spoilers remain deployed even whilst taxiing, so perhaps this
was a hydraulic problem. The aircraft was followed by STN's fire
crew and rangers did a runway inspection, all done with total
precision. All passengers disembarked. I hope this doesn't
sensationalise the event and I am uploading for interest more
than anything else. Also included here are Pegasus Boeing
737-800 TC-ASP takeoff, private 737BBJ, Thomas Cook A320
landing, TNT 737 takeoff and another Boeing 747-8 arrival this
time featuring a wide shot.

Filming over two days in May 2012 this
video includes a windy approach and landing for a Global Supply
Systems #Boeing747-8 plus an overhead takeoff. Also in this
video is an up close very short and powerful FedEX MD11 takeoff
plus a landing. Thomson Boeing 757, Titan 737 landing and a
Monarch Airlines Airbus A330 which had been on some sort of
private charter. Finally there's a Embraer Lineage landing.

On 3rd May 2012 yet another long
standing airline ceased operating. This time Denmark's Cimber
Sterling. I was in Copenhagen in March 2012 and I saw and filmed
a number of Cimber Sterling's Airlines Boeing 737s, ATR 72's and
Bombardier CRJ200s. Cimber was established in 1949 and this long
standing airline served many regions throughout Scandinavia.
Another sad day for aviation, another sad day for regional
aviation, for choice, for the employees and those dedicated to
their company. This video has been warmly received by a number
of former Cimber Sterling employees.

You wont see closer taxi shots at Stansted that from this video
which was filmed on a special event day arranged by Essex Police
and the Planewatch team. After a briefing and update the group
was allowed access to a normally restricted area of the airport.
Here you'll see a lot of regular visitors to Stansted but from a
different angle and with some nice shots of waving pilots.

Always trying to bring you something new and different, I was
fortunate to visit Denmark for the first time and to have stayed
at the Hilton Airport Hotel at Copenhagen Airport. This short
video captures some of the aircraft movements I was able to
capture there and on a visit to the well known spotting
location. Unfortunately it clouded over this afternoon and being
late in the day as well means that this video was affected by
poor light. Still I saw many aircraft and airlines for the first
time. I hope you enjoy.

My favourite airline of recent times has
undergone a lot of change recently, not least with the sad
and regrettable pull out of Galway Airport. However I stuck
by them and still tried to promote them in my videos, this
is my final "Aer Arann video" very soon Aer Arann will paint
all aircraft in the Aer Lingus Regional brand colours.
However, this is not a takeover EIR is just a brand, Aer
Arann will still own and operate the aircraft.. see right

It has been announced that on the 25th March 2012 all Aer Arann
Regional services will be re-branded into Aer Lingus Regional
operations. This will mean an end to the Aer Arann brand and RE
flight numbers. Aer Arann will still exist but operating this
franchise rather than under it's own brand, they will still fly
the aircraft and employ people and importantly will still be

I've never seen a FedEX Boeing 757
before, in fact I had no idea they even operated to London
Luton, so I was happy to see one. I like the 757. Late afternoon
of Thursday Februrary 23rd 2012. In this video I captured an
aborted landing/ rejected landing/ go-around. Whatever the
terminology I hope the absolute power of the 757 and engines
come through in this video. It's a shorter video than I normally
produce and for those of you that dislike the music, this one is
au natural! - natural sounds only. Anyway, I had a great day at
my unplanned, unexpected trip to Luton. I was grateful to the
friendly security guys for letting me stay. I hope you enjoy the
video, I really enjoyed seeing and hearing the power of this
fantastic aircraft..

Having gone back through some video
tapes of footage I filmed a few years ago it's clear just how
many changes have occurred at London Stansted. However, bear in
mind that some of the shots included here, such as Hellenic
Imperial, Saudi and Bahrain 727 were irregular flights. However
many others such as Darwin Airline, Transavia, Blue1, AIr Italy,
MaxJet, SkyEurope have either stopped flying to Stansted or
stopped altogether. Although others such as Titan, EasyJet,
Ryanair remain. Germanwings remains, but lacks the logojets of
the past and Air Berlin is a shadow of it's former self at STN,
having transferred many flights elsewhere. Some shots are a
little jerky but I hope it brings back memories for you as it
did me. Oh, and as a one off I've also included a US Military
C17 departure and an Irish Air Corp CASA arrival.

This probably isn't the best video
I've made to be honest, but that's more as a result of having so
few aircraft types to film. I like to get to Stansted when it's
been snowing as there's usually a good chance of some
diversions. However this year, February 2012, that hasn't
occurred to the same degree as previous years. As a result I
stood freezing in a field to film aircraft that you've probably
all seen before, but I am dedicated to my hobby so I thought I'd
upload all the same. Here are a few Ryanair Boeing 737 movements
along with EasyJet A319, Thomson 737, TNT Cargo Bae146 and
Boeing BBJ. I am grateful for your comments and support. I hope

OK I don't think my videos get much

This video is a compilation of the videos I made in 2011. Note

Who says I am not dedicated to the
cause ... or should that be who says I am sad and need more
abundance in my life.. whichever way you look at it I was up at
4am to get to Stansted for 5:30am with the expected first
arrival of G-GSSF the 3rd of three Boeing 747-8's delivered to
GLobal Supply Systems. AS it happens, the aircraft picked up
significant delays as a result of bad weather in Delhi India so
I missed the arrival but did catch the first revenue departure
of this aircraft from the UK later in the afternoon. Also the

At 7:30am on Friday 4th November
2011 Atlas Air / Global Supply Systems took delivery of the
first of 3 Boeing 747-8 Aircraft that they have on order with
Boeing. The first of these new aircraft, G-GSSD was delivered to
Stansted on a very wet morning. This video shows the very first
landing and water canon salute.

Air Southwest was a UK regional
airline set up in 2003 by Sutton Harbour Holdings to take over
flights from the Southwest region of the UK to London and other
major cities. In December 2010 Sutton Harbour, also the owner of
Plymouth Airport, ASW's main base, completed a sale to Eastern
Airways. On September 30th 2011 8 years of ASW operations
ceased. The future of Plymouth Airport is in doubt. This video
is a tribute to regional air transport which was highly
regarded, made possible by the people of Air Southwest.

This video begins with an Iceland
Air Cargo Boeing 757F landing at Stansted Airport, this was
filmed earlier in 2011. Following the short title sequence is
footage filmed on 24th September 2011, including FedEX Boeing
777 arrival and then another rare treat (I do keep trying to
bring them to you!), as Air Asia X substituted their usual
Airbus A340 aircraft with an A330 instead, I've included both
the arrival and night time departure.

Filmed in late summer at London's

opportunity to film aircraft from the opposite side of the

30th July this video was up a day later. I was exceptionally
fortunate to have good weather and filmed at both Glasgow and
Edinburgh Airports. This video includes shots from both at some

2011 Stansted Airport was absolutely jam-packed with spotters.
Belmer Road and all the normal spotting locations were totally
full. Alas I was late and ended up filming overhead shots for
some of the arrivals, however I managed to get many more
departures for the UEFA Champions League movements. The final
was held in Wembly between Manchester United and Barcelona.
Numerous Spanish charters were organised to transport
spectators.. 6min

Met Police with possible VIP in title sequence. President Barak
Obama had been in Ireland on 23rd May 2011 and was due to remain
there overnight until continuing his EU trip through Stansted on
24th May to meet with UK Government. However due to a new
volcanic ash cloud from Iceland the trip was moved forward. I
had to rush and pack everything and get to Stansted as rumours
were abound about his early arrival. IN the event he did arrive
a day early but in the darkness. However it was an amazing site
to see this aircraft at Stansted once more. 6min

of FedEx's first 777 arrival at Stansted (see video 4) I went
back to capture it in daylight hours along with a bunch of other
Stansted regulars (and not so regular!). I took a gamble on this
video - I wanted to capture the 777 but I tried panning at full
zoom, from a FedEX MD11 up to the approaching 777 - believe me,

Galway March 27th 2011. I've never done a launch flight before
and along with TV cameras, dancers, music, cake and

In August 2010,
Aer Arann entered Irish Examinership, similar to the Chapter 11
process in the USA. Aer Arann was forced into this measure
primarily as a result of the volcanic ash cloud which resulted
in a drop in cashflow. My video is an advert/promotion for my
favourite regional airline. Aer Arann is important for the jobs
of many people and enables easy connectivity to the Irish

after Ryanair turned into something very interesting when the
weather changed from warm autumnal sunshine to menacing skies
and the arrival of a Saudi Boeing 777 - OK I was filming in the

especially the close up on the wheels of the 747F.

was a charter airline with flights to Manchester, Glasgow and
other airports. Following the collapse of Kiss Flights in the UK
Viking lost a large contract. Sept 16th Viking AB stopped flying

Despite having
countless hours of aircraft video it is very rare to capture any
sort of emergency situation - thankfully! . This video was shot
27th Sept 2010 at Manchester Airport and features a Condor
(Thomas Cook) 767-300 making an emergency landing complete with
numerous fire trucks at both ends of the runway. Despite a
pretty fast and hard landing and lack of flaps this was a
routine landing - thank goodness.

I was lucky enough to capture this Lithuanian airline, Star1,
just a matter of 2 days before their sole aircraft was seized in
Dublin and flights ceased.

As part of the rollout regular spotters/ photographers were
encouraged to sign up for the scheme and were provided with more
background on the launch day. As part of this a special event

ANOTHER 1ST ON

This video was
taken on my first trip to London's Heathrow Airport for
plane spotting. This trip was a little impromptu so no tripod
was used, but managed to capture the Emirates A380 and also
photographed and included the Air France A380 - this was
actually the first time the aircraft had departed LHR on
scheduled services to CDG-Paris, so another very lucky capture.

shot on a nice spring day at London Stansted, however it was

Playing around
with some footage taken in 2009, I found a nice surprise in the
form of an Omni Air DC10 landing at Stansted Airport. Both

doubts in mind, this HD video of footage shot at both Dublin
Airport and Manchester Airport features some of the world's
largest aircraft up close. A short tile sequence with elegant

AS you may have
guessed by now, Aer Arann have become a special airline to me,
mainly because they fly to the heart of Ireland's west on
fantastic ATR aircraft. I flew to Galway in March 2010 and was
extremely lucky to be scheduled on EI-REO which had undergone
painting just days earlier into the new Aer Lingus Regional
colours. I've flown on almost all of Aer Arann's aircraft and
was very impressed by their previous original livery "The Celtic
Rings/Triskels" and this video celebrates that livery before
showing how the ATR72-500's now look.

British Airways
began transatlantic flights from London City Airport using A318
aircraft. With it's short runway, BA became the first airline to
operate such as large airliner to the STOL (short takeoff
landing) airport. This video sees the taxi and takeoff.
Configured in a premium layout of just 36 seats the outbound
routing is via Shannon, ROI to refuel and use the pre-clearace
facilities although return flights are direct.

I've been
shooting my videos in full HD1080 for a long time now, but had
only ever edited and uploaded in standard definition. With
YouTube changing and encouraging HD content, I began uploading
some test videos. Unfortunately 1080 videos take an age to
upload on my connection so depending on the urgency of upload
I'll flip between 1080 and 720dpi for now. Also editing these on

In December 2009
there was some reasonably decent snowfall and some beautiful
sunny days with wonderfully orange sunsets, so I headed over to
Stansted to film some action with a winter setting. Some of the
captures here are firsts for me, notably the Iceland Air Cargo
and MD11 smokey engine startup along with the views of snow
blowers in action. On such still days the sound is really rich
and detailed. This being the last video for 2009 prompted an
extra long title sequence of tightly edited shots of as many
airlines and aircraft that I could squeeze into a 2 mins
soundtrack from footage taken from Stansted, Manchester, Dublin
and London City during 2009..

2009 marks another sad day in aviation as 800 employees and
thousands of customers learn that FlyGlobespan has gone into
administration. The airline had been seeking £10 million in
additional funding but the deal with a Jersey based company
failed. I've seen Flyglobespan aircraft at Stansted, Glasgow,
Dublin and Edinburgh and they once even saved my stranded
parents who missed a flight home from Tenerife on another
carrier! It's always sad to think of the people that make a
company ad losing their jobs so close to Christmas. It's not
much, but this is my tribute to the men and women of
Flyglobespan.

Uploaded I was approached
by the CEO of an Irish company called flyfearless.com who
specialise in helping people overcome their fear of flying.
Following a few discussions I offered to create a video
specifically showing images that a person flying an ATR Aircraft
may encounter at the airport as well as the sights and sounds of
flight. (Incidentally, Fly Fealess were running the course using
Aer Arann ATR aircraft). I hope this video is a fair reflection
and is a useful aid for flyfearless passengers. The stylised
titles introduce the ATR flipping between a plane taxiing to
takeoff and the pre-flight procedures set to calming celtic
flavoured music.

UPDATE 2012
Following the
announcement that SkyEurope had ceased trading on 1st Sept 2009
I thought about all of the videos I had taken of airlines that
are no longer in business. Although this isn't technically my
best video (some of the footage is handheld) it's a pretty stark
reminder of just how many airlines have come and gone in a
relatively short time. I believe that I captured the last

Having had some
success with Irish aviation videos, I decided to create another
following a trip to Dublin. **This is just a very SMALL sample
of the footage I have** This time I managed to find some
different angles and rather than concentrating solely on Irish
carriers, I've included more variety here. I am very pleased
with the shots, many are extreme closeups not seen anywhere

Airport in the north of England is world renowned as a spotters
ideal airport. One of the last airports anywhere that actively
encourages people to visit. Although I have flown to Manchester
before, I have never had the opportunity to film. This video has
my most ambitious title sequence to date. The only downside is
that it is a hard place to film simply because of it's
popularity and that can affect audio.

world leaders for the G20 summit in London. Stansted was heaving
with spectators (very rare!) and more importantly,security &

Shot in High Definition this was my first trip to London City
Airport. The airport is interesting because of it's proximity to
the centre of the city and the requirement for steep takeoff and

of firsts in the form of the Thomsonfly wingletted 737 and the
Air Berlin Dash 8 -400 which was only delivered a short time
before filming. This was also the first time I captured a FedEX

Shortly after this there
was a Thomson 737 lined up on the runway awaiting takeoff
clearance whilst an EasyJet A319 was on approach. The latter
became a go-around as the Thomson wasn't cleared to leave. All
the while the IL76 was getting ready to go!
As you will
appreciate it's very unusual to see so much action, let alone
film what's going on, and often the sound and things going on at
the time make it even more challenging.
Anyway, the
Ryanair did indeed have some problems with the gear, but this
video is ONLY POSTED to show the absolute brilliant
professionalism of ALL involved, the well oiled machine swung
into action and thankfully although lined up the Fire crews were
not required as the 737 got 3 green lights and kissed the
runway.
To all involved, a great sight to witness and
this should serve to encourage anyone of how high safety is
regarded within the industry. Oh, and check out the ATR72 chased
by a flock of birds!

As a result of the Summer of Sport in
London there have been many rare and unsual visitors to
Stansted. I've brought a lot of VIP arrivals to you in my
previous video, but this was on the day of the opening ceremony.
However this video features some of the movements during the
proceedings as more athletes and heads of state travel around.
This video
features an Airbus of the Armenian Government to kick things
off, followed by a title sequence that's quite short but quite
ambitious. The music is supposed to start with a Chinese / Asian
sound reflecting the Airbus 330 of China Southern on screen,
this then cuts into shots of Russian built TU154 of the Slovak
Government, IL62's an IL96 and IL76. All this is set to more
grinding hardcore music to try and reflect the machinery that is
these aircraft - well that's the thought anyway!
Stay to the
end to capture the water cannon salute for China Southern, I can
only think this was done because the airline only recently
started flights to Heathrow and there was a hosepipe ban on
according to 'Aviation News' so this may have been done at STN
instead.

Please note that filming conditions
were quite difficult, STN faces into the sun for the most part
of the day, and therefore looking at an LCD screen isn't easy.
Also I film up a ladder and the sound is affected somewhat by
the many hundreds of other spectators. Unfortunately for me, a
large number of very loud people congretated near me for most of
the day and proceeded to shout their conversations at one
another so!! I've tried to minimise those interruptions.
Finally a huge thank you must be
extended to Essex Police Planewatch and Stansted Airport
Operations for their accommodation of aviation enthusiasts from
around the country, they really did a lot to help and have
helped prove again that aviation attracts a lot of interest
around the world and should be supported. Thank you.

Aer Arann has undergone huge changes in the past year under
immensely challenging times for the aviation industry. With the
economic turmoil in Ireland, and globally, the introduction of
huge hikes in APD in the UK, the loss of PSO routes in Ireland.
Hopefully this new venture (similar to the way in which
Scotland's regional airline Loganair operates) will mean
stability and growth for Aer Arann and it's people moving
forward.
It will be a sad day for me to see Aer Arann brand disappear,
I've supported them a lot over the past few years, and the loss
of any livery (despite how bland it became recently) makes
aircraft spotting that bit less interesting, however I hope this
'tribute' video shows a fraction of the footage I've gathered of
Aer Arann over the years. Stick with it to the very end to see
how the brand will be displayed in future.
Good luck to the people of Aer Arann, thank you for the many
great trips to Galway Airport and others.

Really, the people, the beautiful scenery, the convenience of
the airport only minutes from the hotel (Clayton)
and it has everything, coasts, mountains the perfect chill out
location. I'm becoming a regular through Southend now as well,
this being my 3rd experience. Despite problems getting my laptop
